Mike and Lynn Martz

Mike & Lynn first met while they were both attending the University of Wisconsin -- Platteville and were married in 1979. After graduation, Mike went on to teach for two years in Pearl City, IL before he and Lynn began farming in Rewey, WI as a cattle background operation. This operartion supplied some of the cattle for the Larson family operation feed lot in Maple Park, IL.

Both Mike and Lynn have been part of the Larson Farms Partnership since 1980, joining Lynn's parents, Ray and Carol Larson, and her two brothers, Norm and Dave. In 1988, Mike and Lynn made the move to Illinois so that they could help more with the cattle operation on the main farm in Maple Park. Mike worked with Lynn's father, Ray, managing the feedlot, while Lynn handled the billing for their custom feedlot.

After Dave and Norm left the partnership in the 1990s, Lynn and Mike stepped up and assumed all of the roles that her brothers had held previously. After handling so much of the responsibilty they were happy to welcome back Norm to the farm and their son Justin in 2008.

Currently, they both are active in the Waterman United Methodist Church as well as many different agricultural organizations including the Illinois Beef Association and DeKalb County Soil and Water Board..

They have three grandchildren, Jaxson, Jaedyn, and Justis whom they adore and are most likely to be found riding shotgun with them.
