Justin and Jamie
Justin and Jamie Martz are third generation partners of Larson Farms Partnership. After high school, Justin attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign majoring in Crop Sciences. Here he expanded his network of contacts by becoming a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. Jamie played volleyball at Highland Community College for two years before transferring to Northern Illinois University in pursuit of her major in Communications. Justin and Jamie were married after college in 2008. From there, Justin returned home to work at the farm in the fall of 2008 and Jamie has worked as a crop insurance agent since she graduated college.
Today, Justin and Jamie live on the main farm and have three kids Jaxson, Jaedyn and Justis that have enriched their lives. Justin currently works on the grain side of the Larson Farms operation with GIS, equipment maintenance, as well as in field operations. He also sells DeKalb corn and Asgrow soybeans which allows him to help with the placement of the varieties around the various fields. Justin has found this to be a personal challenge to figure out what barrier is holding Larson Farms back from achieving their next yield goal, but it is a challenge that makes it easy for him to get up and go to work everyday. Jamie works off the farm for Bend Insurance who serves farmers for various crop insurance needs as well as serves as a director on the Illinois Beef Association checkoff board.
